Welcome to Families UNited!

Families United is the main registered charity in Warrington offering support to children with  disabilities and their families. What links our families is the shared experience of having a child diagnosed with a disability, the cost of which is not just financial, but the impact on family life .  Families United offers exciting monthly events and activities and our Saturday F.UN Club in which the whole family can participate, enjoy and achieve.   You can meet other families in a similar situation, making new friends and reducing isolation and anxiety.  We are not specific to any one disability and anyone who feels that their child would benefit from the group is eligible to participate.

Social Activities – Weekend and school holiday trips provide a social platform for families with a disabled child. They are a great opportunity for the whole family to gain social interaction with other families, which is often not possible when caring for a disabled child. Over 12’s have the opportunity to go on a canal boat trip and bowling, the whole family can access swimming parties, trips to the seaside and visits to the sensory play centres and farms. All activities are regularly featured in our monthly newsletter.

Saturday F.UN Club- this caters for children aged 0-12 and their siblings.  The group is informal with plenty of opportunity for play and also to experience all the different forms of art.  Recent activities have included music sessions, puppets, magicians, storytelling.  Parents of children find it an invaluable source of support.  All staff are CRB checked.

Monthly Newsletter listing activities & events, news & reviews.

Parent Support Group for Mums & Dads with social get-togethers bi-monthly.

Dad's Support Group - a chance for Dads to meet up socially bi-monthly.

Christmas Activities- we at F.UN like our members to have some FUN at what can sometimes be a very difficult time of year.  The activities provided by the panto and the party allow all the family to enjoy themselves with other families in similar situations.  The party is usually attended by over 75 children and is a major success with the inevitable appearance of Father Christmas along side entertainment with a disco and entertainer. Last year over 50 children went to the Panto.
